The Sisters community will soon enjoy a new and expanded library. The 8,300 square foot library, located at 110 N Cedar, is slated to open on Monday, December 19. The current Sisters Library will be closed from Saturday, December 10 – Sunday, December 18 to move the library materials, equipment, and shelving into the new facility.
“We are eager to serve our Sisters residents in this beautiful and functional space,” said Sisters Public Library Manager Peg Bermel. “The new Library will serve as the information and community center for Sisters and will provide many years of service for our growing community.”
Books and other materials may be returned to the current library until December 12. After the 12th, library staff requests that materials are dropped off at the new library’s book drop.
According to Bermel, a grand opening is planned for mid-January when the community will be invited to officially celebrate the new library.
“We are so grateful for the very generous donation from the Moyer Family and the continued support of the Friends of the Sisters Public Library who made the enhancements to the new building possible,” said Bermel. “We are looking forward to honoring those who have dedicated time, energy, and money into making this library into something that truly captures the Spirit of Sisters.”
