Café Libri is open this month at the Redmond Public Library on May 27, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. During this time, limited library services are available. This program is free and open to the public.
Café Libri is the result of the library district responding to public suggestions. Created to provide a place to meet and mingle and enjoy food and friends in a casual environment, Café Libri events are hosted once a month throughout the library district. Refreshments will be served and entertainment provided. Visitors to Café Libi are encouraged to enjoy the music, browse the stacks and get acquainted with their library in a whole new way.
Taking the library stage at the May event will be singer/songwriter Chris Brown. Brown, a regular at Wild Oats Market, Royal Blend and The Oasis Bar, grew up in Lakewood, WA, outside of Tacoma. As a young boy, he learned to play the piano and while in high school he played the electric organ in small bands, and then mastered the accordion. “It was more mobile than a piano,” says Brown. He took up the guitar when after selling his real estate business he sold most of his earthly possessions and moved to Mexico. Dedicated to learning the craft of the singer/songwriter, Brown spent his time in Mexico mastering the guitar. With the help of his guitar, harmonica and accordion, Brown uses his songs to tell stories about his family and his travels.
