(November 30, 2000) Like the famous children’s story about the kittens who lost their mittens, the Friends of the Bend Public Library’s Mitten Tree is in need of mittens.

"We’ll take children’s mittens of any color," said Library Community Relations Specialist Chantal Strobel. "Children are encouraged to hang their donated mittens on the Library’s Mitten Tree located in the children’s area of the Bend Public Library. All of the mittens will be donated to needy children across Deschutes County."

Last year’s Mitten Tree was such a success, the Friends of the Bend Library have decided to make this an annual tradition.

For more information, please call Chantal Strobel at 383-6712.
