As part of Energy Independence Month in Central Oregon, Deschutes Public Library and the Central Oregon Environmental Center are working together to offer a four session course on global warming prepared by the Northwest Earth Institute. The courses will be held Thursdays, 5:30-6:30, starting June 28th and running through July 19th. All courses will be held in the Hutchinson Room at the Bend Public Library.
The goals of these discussions are to:
* Learn more about the history and science of global
warming.
* Explore personal values and habits as they relate to
climate change.
* Consider actions to curb global warming.
Northwest Earth Institute, based in Portland, offers innovative programs designed to motivate individuals to better understand sustainability issues, and empower them to take action for positive change. For more information about Northwest Earth Institute go to www.nwei.org.
"Global Warming: Changing Course" is offered free of charge. The course will be limited to 12 participants. To register, please call Lisa McGean at 541/312-1034.
