Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Deschutes Public Library hosts a workshop at the Sisters Public Library. Tika Weeks, owner of Alari Artistry leads the workshop. The workshop is free but registration is required and limited to the first 15 people. Call 312-1032 or stop by the Sisters Public Library to make reservations.

The workshop in February kicks off a craft series at all branch libraries. Led by Weeks, participants will have the opportunity to learn a new skill while creating something beautiful. During the February workshop, participants will create three custom greeting cards for Valentine’s Day. Weeks will demonstrate how to use rubber stamps for heat embossing, embellishing, and general assembly of handcrafted cards.

Four years ago, Weeks put her love of all things crafty to the test and opened Alari Artistry. She offers a variety of craft instruction for all ages, including yarn crafts, card making, drawing and jewelry making. Participants in the class need not be craft experts. Upcoming craft workshops at the libraries include creating a basket centerpiece, decorating a terra cotta flower pot, making a picture frame, and creating a Mother’s Day scrapbook.

For more information about this class or to register please call 312-1032 or drop by the Sisters Library.
