Second Sunday Turns Four!

Come celebrate the fourth birthday of Second Sunday on September 14th at 3:00 p.m. in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library. This month's featured poets will be Tim Applegate, Peter Lovering and Paula Lowden. An open mic will follow the readings and celabratory cake will be available. This program is free and open to the public.
Since earning a degree in literature from Indiana University in 1978, Tim Applegate has supported his writing through a variety of jobs in sales and commercial contracting. He currently owns a furniture and wood restoration company in Gaston, Oregon. His poems have appeared in literary journals throughout the United States and Canada. His first collection, "At The End Of Day" was published by Traprock Books in 2007.
Peter Lovering, poet, is a Bend resident and a retired residential construction manager, as well as a former biology instructor. Pter is one of the founders of the Second Sunday series of the Bend Public Library, and is currently the president fo the board of directors for the Nature of Words. He has been writing poetry since 1965 and currently has three chapbooks in pring--"Orion Bringing up the Sun" (2001), "Inner Voice-Open Space" (2007), and "Walking the Hills of Andromeda" (2008). All have been published by his own press--Two Ravens Publications, and are available at Camalli Books in Bend.
Paula Lowden, a poet and lifelong resident of Oregon, graduated from the University of Oregon as a student of Psychology and Literature. She now lives in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland near an urban wildlife refuge where she enjoys watching bald eagles fly above from her backyard garden. She has a teenage daughter and has practiced bodywork for many year.
