Hunting Deer on Public Lands with Gary Lewis

Deschutes Public Library is pleased to host outdoor expert and author Gary Lewis for a program titled “Hunting Deer on Public Lands,” on November 13, at 6:00 pm at the LaPine Public Library. This program is free and open to the public.
Gary Lewis is an outdoor writer, speaker and photographer who makes his home in Central Oregon. He has hunted and fished in five countries on two continents and much of the American West. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he has been walking forest trails and running rivers for as long as he can remember. He is a past President of the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association (NOWA).
Lewis is the New Products Editor for Successful Hunter magazine and is a humor columnist for Bear Hunting magazine. He is also the author of eight books, ,including Nosler – Going Ballistic, Deer Hunting Tactics for Today’s Big Game Hunter, and Sun Publishing’s Hunting Oregon. Four of his books have won NOWA’s Excellence in Craft awards and he has received numerous awards for his newspaper columns and magazine articles. His stories have appeared in Sports Afield, Rifle, Successful Hunter, African Sporting Gazette, River Jet, Traditional Bowhunter, Mule Deer, African Hunter, Cascades East, Northwest FlyFishing, Washington-Oregon Game & Fish, Oregon Hunter, Salmon Trout Steelheader, The Christian Sportsman, Wheelin’ Sportsmen and more. Lewis lives in Central Oregon with his wife of 20 years and their three camo-clad daughters.
