Kick Off Oregon Reads 2009

It’s kick off time! This Saturday, April 4, 2009, Deschutes Public Library will be hosting events at the Redmond and Bend libraries to celebrate the 2009 Oregon Reads project. Storyteller Alton Chung will share his tales of the Issei and the Niesei (first and second generation Japanese Americans during World War II. His performance in Redmond begins at 11:00 am. At 3:00 pm at the Bend Public Library, Chung will be joined by musicians Vossen Yukiko and Peter Zisa. Yukiko plays the koto and Zisa accompanies her on guitar.
