The Deschutes Public Library is pleased to announce a new craft series called “Get Crafty”.  Starting in August and running through December, library branches around the district will host craft demonstrations and workshops all taught by local crafter, Anita Tracy.  The third workshop, “The Fall Centerpiece” will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sunriver Area Public Library, and then repeated on Wednesday, October 7th, at 6:30 p.m. and the Bend Public Library.  This program is free and open to the public, but limited to 10 participants each.  Please register by calling Lisa McGean at 541-312-1034, or by registering online at www.dpls.us/calendar.

“The Fall Centerpiece” workshop will be a hands-on class on using fall flowers and plants in your home and on your table.  Participants will take home tips, techniques, and an arrangement.

The rest of the workshops are as follows:

The Decorated Table: November 11th, 1:00 p.m. in Redmond

The Decorated Table: November 18th, 12 noon in Sisters

The Holiday Wreath: December 2nd, 6:30 p.m. Bend

All workshops require registration with the exception of “The Holiday Wreath”.

Bend resident Anita Tracy has a strong background in design.  She worked as a fashion designer for a chain of boutiques for several years, then as a floral designer for more than 20 years.  She is also a designer of decorator pillows utilizing antique textiles, handmade lace and fancy needle work from by-gone eras.  She has been the owner of a quilt gallery, a crafts gallery, and a home furnishings business.  Ms. Tracy currently works in her Bend studio with vintage textiles and also offers classes and the occasional tea party.
