Second Sunday at 2:00 pm: Poet Lisa Steinman

As part of the Celebrate Oregon Authors series of events, the Deschutes Public Library is proud to present a reading by Portland writer Lisa Steinman. The reading will take place on Sunday, October 11th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Brooks Room. Since this is also a Second Sunday event, there will be an open mic following the reading. This event is free and open to the public.
Lisa Steinman has been awarded fellowships from the National Endowments for the Arts and the Humanities, as well as the Rockefeller Foundation. She teaches at Reed College and has published three books about poetry, most recently Invitation to Poetry, which Choice named one of the year’s “Outstanding Academic Books” in 2009. She has also published five volumes of poetry, most recently, Carslaw’s Sequences (University of Tampa Press). Her poems have appeared in Quarterly West, The Massachusetts Review, Prairie Schooner, Notre Dame Review, Threepenny Review, Chariton Review, Epoch, The Women’s Review of Books and elsewhere. She co-edits the poetry magazine, Hubbub.
