The Deschutes Public Library is pleased to announce a new craft series called “Get Crafty”. Starting in August and running through December, library branches around the district will host craft demonstrations and workshops all taught by local crafter, Anita Tracy. The fifth workshop, “The Holiday Wreath” will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library at 6:30 p.m. This class is free and open to the public, and no registration is necessary.
“The Holiday Wreath” workshop will be a hands-on class on how decorate a festive wreath. You may bring your own wreath, real or artificial, and take home a handcrafted work of art. Supplies, except for the wreath, will be provided.
Bend resident Anita Tracy has a strong background in design. She worked as a fashion designer for a chain of boutiques for several years, then as a floral designer for more than 20 years. She is also a designer of decorator pillows utilizing antique textiles, handmade lace and fancy needle work from by-gone eras. She has been the owner of a quilt gallery, a crafts gallery, and a home furnishings business. Ms. Tracy currently works in her Bend studio with vintage textiles and also offers classes and the occasional tea party.
