Community Forums Planned to Discuss Future Library Services in East Bend

Posted By:  Kevin Barclay
Date Posted:  2/25/2010

The Deschutes Public Library is inviting the Bend community to participate in two upcoming forums to discuss the future planning of a new library in East Bend. No new taxes are proposed to open this new library. To save costs the library will be considering leased space. Site criteria, available space and cost will determine the location of the new library. The forums are an opportunity for Bend residents to share their ideas about what services they would like to see in this new facility. Topics would include days and hours of operation, types of programming, meeting room spaces, books, music, and movies available, and so on.

The public is asked to RSVP to Assistant Library Director Kevin Barclay if you are interested in attending one or both of these forums. The community forum dates & locations are as follows:

Bend Senior Center
1600 SE Reed Market Rd.
Thursday, March 4th at 5:30 p.m.

 Bend Elks Lodge
63120 Boyd Acres Road
Monday, March 15 at 5:30 p.m.

For more information contact Assistant Library Director Kevin Barclay, 541-312-1046, or email kevinb@deschuteslibrary.org.
