In an effort to have more staff available at peak times in the smaller library locations, the Deschutes Public Library is shifting to new hours for the summer.  Beginning Monday, July 5 the following hours will take effect at the La Pine, Sisters, and Sunriver Libraries:

“The summer hours allow for an increase in the number of staff available at the busiest time of day,” said Circulation Manager Holly McKinley.  “Each library has unique peak times so the hours are customized to match the usage patterns of the community.  These changes are based on studying customer use over the last several years.”

 

McKinley explained that the hours are complimentary from one library to the next. For example, Sunriver Area Public Library is closed on Sundays but the La Pine Public Library is open.  La Pine Public Library closes at 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday but the Sunriver Area Public Library stays open until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

The Bend Public Library and Redmond Public Library hours will remain the same.
