The Deschutes Public Library Foundation is hosting
A Novel Idea Unveiled on
Friday, January 27 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Downtown Bend Library. This free annual event is open to all ages and provides the public the first opportunity to learn what the A Novel Idea community read selection is for 2012. This year’s book will be available to purchase and check-out at the Library that evening.
“We encourage the public to attend this free and festive event and check out the first copies of this year’s
A Novel Idea selection,” said Community Relations Manager Chantal Strobel. “The Library Foundation has planned a fun evening with live music, appetizers, and a no-host bar to celebrate the 9
th year of Deschutes County’s most popular community read and discussion event:
A Novel Idea… Read Together.”
A Novel Idea officially kicks off Saturday, April 14, 2012 and culminates with the author’s visit to Central Oregon in early May. All programs, including the three author presentations, are offered to the public free of charge.
“More than 20 cultural programs are planned to build and expand the themes of the book for deeper discussion and understanding,” Strobel said. “We also make available book club kits to local book groups throughout Deschutes County – free of charge.”
It is not too early to reserve a book kit….please call (541) 312-1032 or email
