Join Nicolle Timm for a look at the Central Oregon Locavore scene at the
Redmond Public Library on Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30 pm. Both programs are free and open to the public.
During her presentation, Timm will explain the grassroots food and local faming movement in Central Oregon. “Getting involved can make a difference,” says Timm. She will also address the nutritional advantages of fresh, local food vs. commercial, mass-produced products.
Nicolle Timm is a registered nurse and board-certified lactation consultant at St Charles Medical Center Bend & Redmond as well as the engine behind Central Oregon Locavore, a year-round online farmers market. Timm organizes several local-food oriented events including WWOLF (Willing Workers On Local Farms), Edible Adventure Crew (Gleaning Fieldtrips), Meet Your Farmer Dinners (Locally sourced dinners featuring a presentation by the producers themselves and Community Supper (Seasonal at cost local food dinner gatherings). She is also co-founder of Local Commerce Alliance non-profit.
