The Hunger Games , by author Suzanne Collins? Set in post-apocalyptic Panem,
The Hunger Games is part Logan’s Run, part Gladiator, with one boy and one girl from each of the 12 districts taking part in a the annual event. The stakes are high for the 24 young people who enter the arena. Relying on their wits, physical abilities, and survival skills, only one will survive to win the cruel and violent spectacle created by those in the Capitol, who are determined to keep any rebellion at bay.
The much anticipated movie based on the first book of
The Hunger Games trilogy comes out on March 23. Since its original publication date, “The Hunger Games” has been translated into 26 languages and had an initial print run of 200,000.
