The Friends of the Redmond Library Art Committee is pleased to present a display of fiber art by the Journeys Art Quilt Group. The exhibition opened
Saturday, August 4, 2012, and continues through September 29, 2012 at the Redmond Public Library. The group, Helen Brisson, Donna Cherry, Betty Gientke, Jan Hearn, Ruth Ingham, June Jaeger, Jean Wells Keenan, Charlene Kenny, Sue McMahan
, Joanne Myers, Tonye Phillips, Donna Rice and Mary Stiewig, will be exhibiting thirty-five pieces of art.
The Journeys Art Quilt Group is known for expanding the boundaries of traditional quilting. The result of this creative energy is a stunning display of fiber art which incorporates into the quilts other art forms including photography, mono-printing, painting and screen printing. Group members gather monthly to share ideas, techniques and a lively passion for working with fiber.
Select pieces will be for sale with a 20% contribution going to support of the Redmond Friends of the Library which sponsors the Art Committee and art exhibits at the Library.
The Quilters will be hosting a reception on September 8th from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Refreshments will be served.The Redmond Public Library is located at 827 SW Deschutes Ave., Redmond, OR 97756. Library hours are Monday – Friday: 10 – 6 PM, Tuesday: 10 – 8 PM and Saturday: 10 – 5 PM.
