The Friends of the Redmond Library Art Committee is delighted to present an exhibition of art by well-known local artist Linda Shelton. The exhibition will be held in the library’s Silent Reading Room, and runs from October through November 2012.
Since growing up on a ranch in South Central Washington, Linda Shelton has been intrigued with how to transfer images, whether real or imaginary, from the mind’s eye to paper. After earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Central Washington State College, Linda joined United Airlines as a flight attendant (a dream come true). During her 30 year airline adventure, she experimented in different art media, joyfully discovering what each amazing world offered. Although watercolor is Linda’s favorite medium, she continues her explorations in other media.
Linda’s entry into the art world in Oregon won her the “Best of Show” award at the 2008 Deschutes County Fair. Most recently, Ms. Shelton was awarded “Best of Show” at the Redmond Municipal Airport Juried Art Show in May, 2012. Linda creates her art in her home studio located in Redmond, OR. Colors, patterns, and texture are what make her heart sing!
Exhibiting artists contribute 20% of the sale price of their artwork in support of the Friends of the Library, Redmond Branch. The Friends of the Library Art Committee is a standing committee under the Friends of the Library.
The Redmond Branch library is located at 827 SW Deschutes Ave., Redmond, OR 97756. Library hours are Monday – Friday: 10 – 6 PM, Tuesday: 10 – 8 PM and Saturday: 10 – 5 PM.
