Sometimes the funniest moments in comedy are those that are unscripted. Learn about improvisational comedy with the Bend comedy troupe Triage on
Wednesday, November 7, at the La Pine Public Library at 4:30 p.m. and on
Wednesday, November 28, at 6:00 p.m. at the Downtown Bend Public Library. These programs are free and open to the public.
Triage has been entertaining audiences in Central Oregon and beyond for nearly a decade. Triage seeks to create audience-engaging slices of life, recognizable relationships, and a memorable experience for all using their own unique improv forms as well as traditional games similar to the ones popularized on the television show
Whose Line Is It Anyway? During these presentations, which enrich Deschutes Public Library’s November
Know Humor theme, troupe members will introduce the audience to improv, demonstrate interactive games, and engage in a discussion about the form.
Based in Bend, Oregon, Triage is a short and long-form comedy improv group created in 2003 in a Bend Comedy Mill class directed by Michelle Durnell Johnson. Though Triage is proud to call Cascades Theatrical Company’s Greenhouse Playhouse its home, they have played many area venues, including the Tower Theatre, 2nd Street Theatre, Bend Community Theatre, and more. Current players are Mike Ficher, Carolyn Platt, Judi VanHouweling, Angela Lund, Lisa Fetrow, and Paul Bennett. The group has been directed since 2006 by Rhonda Ealy.
