Redmond Library hosts Solo Art Exhibition by Joanne Donaca

The Friends of the Redmond Library Art Committee, is pleased to present Joanne Donaca as the Featured Artist in our Silent Reading Room for February through March 2013.

Native Oregonian, Joanne Donaca, was born into a creative family. Donaca won art competitions throughout high school. Encouraged by her high school art teacher, Joanne has worked in nearly all media ranging from pencil drawing, watercolor and acrylic to pastel painting. Donaca has Signature Memberships in the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of Oregon and the Northwest Pastel Society. In the late 1990s, inspired by a Monet exhibition at the Portland Art Museum, Joanne decided to include oil painting.

Donaca’s landscapes are known for their powerful imagery and the artist’s bold brushwork.  Of her Oregon paintings Donaca says, “The Cascade Range and the High Desert as well as the animals, natural beauty and diverse geography of both climates are ideal for painting and, of course, are a constant inspiration.”

Joanne Donaca has received numerous awards for her artwork. She is frequently featured in shows in Sunriver. For more information, visit Joanne’s website at: www.joannedonaca.com.

Artwork in the library will be for sale with a 20% contribution going to support the Friends of the Redmond Library, which sponsors the Art Committee and art exhibitions.

“ALL ABOUT OREGON” will be available for viewing in the Redmond library is located at 827 SW Deschutes Ave., Redmond, OR 97756. Library hours are Monday – Friday: 10 – 6 PM, Tuesday: 10 – 8 PM and Saturday: 10 – 5 PM.
