Lip BalmCentral Oregon’s dry, high desert climate is a bonus for people who enjoy being out of the rain, but it can also wreak havoc on our skin—especially the super-sensitive skin on our lips. In the winter skin becomes even drier, and people seek out a variety of lip balms to help keep a supple smile—but lipsticks and even some lip balms have been found to include unhealthy ingredients.

Corrie Ann Bradley, a clinical herbalist and herbal educator, will show people how they can easily make natural, soothing lip balm at an event at the Downtown Bend Library on Wednesday, December 4, at 6:00 p.m. She will show people how they can make lip balm not only for themselves, but for friends and family as a gift. This session is part of the Library’s “Know D.I.Y.” month of activities, and is free and open to the public.

Corrie formally studied plant medicine at the California School of Herbal Studies as well as the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. She has been teaching plant medicine classes and sustaining a clinical herbal practice for the past 4 years in Boulder and Durango Colorado.
