Celebrate local writers at the Downtown Bend Public Library at
Second Sunday on August 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
“We believe that giving local writers an opportunity to shine is important,” said Chantal Strobel, Community Relations Coordinator for Deschutes Public Library. Each participating writer will have an opportunity to read and to sell their books. This year, the Local Writers event is part of the Second Sunday series, the monthly celebration of prose and poetry where writers and poets of all levels share their work in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Interested writers should fill out an
application that is available online (note submission information at the bottom of the form) by July 1, 2014. “Our intent is to offer a balance of topics and genres. We will be selecting 8-10 authors that represents a wide variety of styles and formats,” said Strobel.
“We’ve had poets, mystery writers, memoirists, and fiction authors participate,” said Strobel. “We’re happy to support our local authors and offer this event a second time.”
