Musical performances from groups across Central Oregon will serenade the community at Deschutes Public Library this December. Enjoy the harmony of a barbershop quartet, listen in on a four-voice a cappella group, chime along with a bell choir and more—the perfect soundtrack to the winter season. All programs are free and open to the public; no registration required.
Sisters High School Jazz Choir
The Sisters Jazz Choir is an elite choir of 16 high school students auditioned out of the Sisters School District Choral Program. The district choral program has over 100 participants. They are directed by Rick Johnson with the assistance of piano player Julie Cash.
Different Notes a Cappella
Different Notes is a group of five friends singing four-part a cappella harmony. They love to sing for any occasion and love to entertain. They will serenade onlookers with selections of holiday music in the lobby of the Downtown Bend Public Library.
The Night Before the Night Before Christmas
Members of the Sunriver Stars Community Theater perform excerpts from the play The Night Before the Night Before Christmas, written by Bend playwright Cricket Daniel. This is a semi-staged reading complete with the broadcasting booth of a radio station with sound effects and Old Time Singing Commercials. The play is rollicking example of holiday plans gone awry!
High Desert Bell Choir
Enjoy holiday music with the Sisters High Desert Bell Choir. The group was founded in 2008 and has been active in every Sisters High Desert Chorale concert since. The group has performed at the Sisters Tree Lighting Ceremony, Sisters Talent Show and at numerous Christmas time gatherings and concerts.
Four in a Chord
Four in a chord is a dedicated foursome who love singing, learning and performing. They have been spreading the a cappella sounds of barbershop music for several years. Members of Four in a Chord are Doris as tenor, Cindy as lead, Barb as Baritone and Jan as bass.
