Deschutes Public Library cards expire every five years, but renewing your card is quick and easy. Simply visit dpl.pub/renew and confirm your address and phone number. That’s it! You get to keep your existing card and library card number. Library cards expire every five years to ensure we maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including verifying address and contact information.
Library cards issued or renewed prior to January 21, 2025 will expire on Monday, September 1, 2025. You can renew your card now, before the September 1 deadline, by visiting dpl.pub/renew. I just got a new library card; do I need to renew it?
Cards issued or renewed on or after January 21, 2025, do not need to be renewed at this time. Cards issued or renewed before January 21, 2025 need to be renewed by Monday, September 1, 2025.
What happens if I don’t renew my card by September 1?
On September 1, library cards that have not been renewed will be inactive. If you try to use your card without renewing it, you will get an error message. You can still renew your card, but will be unable to check out materials until the renewal is complete.
Will my card expire again?
Deschutes Public Library cards will expire five years after your last renewal or issuance of a new card.
