Central Library Drive-thru Opens March 23

CENTRAL LIBRARY DRIVE-THRU HOURS AS OF MARCH 23, 2026 

Materials return (books, DVDs, magazines): Open 24 / 7

Holds pick-up: Monday–Saturday, noon–6:00 p.m. 

Location: 61956 SE Santorini Street, Bend

Using drive-thru service at the Central Library is convenient and easy for returning books, DVDs, and magazines and picking up holds. Please follow directional signage for the drive-thru.

DROPPING OFF RETURNS: The book-drop chute for book, DVD, and magazine returns is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week starting March 23, 2026. Simply drive up, hold your return(s) near the (1) on the return chute to unlock it, and return your items in the slot marked (2). Note that the drive-thru return can only accept books, DVDs, and magazines. Large items like Book Club Kits, Curriculum Crates, and Library of Things materials need to be returned inside of the Central Library when it opens to the public on May 11.

PICKING UP HOLDS: The drive-thru window for holds pick-up is open Monday–Saturday, noon–6:00 p.m., starting Monday, March 23. Holds that you want to pick up at the drive-thru window must first be reserved using Central DRIVE-THRU as your pick-up location (available starting March 23) when you are reserving your hold in the library’s online catalog. 

Once you are notified that your hold(s) is ready for pick-up at the Central DRIVE-THRU location, simply enter the drive-thru lane, which is located near the east entrance to the library, and approach the window. Ring the bell to let staff know you’re there, and a library staff member will assist you at the window. Please have your library card ready so we can check out your items for you..
