Join us for an evening of poetry, expression, and friendly competition. All writers and readers and word-lovers invited to attend and read at our open mic and poetry slam: Express Yourself.
The intention of this space is to cultivate a deeply rooted, intersectional community through art. We aim to cultivate a sense of safety and belonging in an intentional container where we honor each other and the beingness of many different kinds of people. We also aim to cultivate this as a trauma-informed space and we recognize that our deepest expression can often go hand-in-hand with our deepest wounds. If your poetry contains topics that may trigger others, we ask you to please provide a trigger warning and express desire for consent from the community. That could look something like, "Trigger warning: this poem addresses the trauma of assault.
