A Note About Screen Time

Ages 0-2

Experts do not recommend any screen time for children age 0-2. This includes television, movies, iPads, tablets, and smartphones. This is the most important time for caregivers to be interacting with the infant or toddler, which promotes brain development and bonding.

Ages 2+

After two years, caregivers should be interacting with the child and the screen together - asking open-ended questions and encouraging conversation. This helps promote the early literacy skills your child needs to be ready to read.

Tip: The library has apps and digital reading resources that work best when you explore them together with your child!
