Free Tax Prep Sessions at the Downtown Bend Library

Tax preparation materialsEvery year, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation sessions for Central Oregonians at the Downtown Bend Library. Last year more than 350 county residents filed their taxes with the help of Tax-Aide—and they received more than $385,000 in tax refunds. Come to the library on Saturdays starting February 8 to learn more about tax credits and have an IRS-certified volunteer prepare your taxes. Taxes are prepared online, using IRS-certified software, and then electronically transmitted to the IRS. If you plan to file your own taxes, certified tax volunteers are also be available to answer some your tax questions.

Walk-in sessions at the Downtown Bend Library run Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following Saturdays: February 8, February 15, February 22, February 29, March 7, March 14, March 21, March 28, April 4, and April 11.

For more information visit http://cashoregon.org for a list of items to bring to the session. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation help to anyone and has more than 5,000 locations in neighborhood libraries, malls, banks, community centers and senior centers. There’s no fee and no sales pitch for other services and AARP membership is not required. CASH Oregon, through a partnership with AARP Tax-Aide, supports free tax preparation and tax credit outreach in 32 counties in the State of Oregon at over 140 tax sites.
